Aviation

My aviation journey started by flying remote control helicopters and then aircraft at a RC flying field in Austin, TX called HCAM. This, and inspiration from some of the other RC pilots, pushed me to start flying ‘full scale’ aircraft.

In 2008 after I received my private pilot’s license I purchased my first plane for $18,000 from a mechanic in Georgetown, TX.

As time went by and my mission changed, I began looking for something a bit faster that could accommodate my new needs to go faster, further, and with some more safety to use my instrument rating. After debating between an RV-6A, 182, and 177 Cardinal, I landed on a Mooney M20C. It did everything the Cessna 150 did, but better.

Five or so more years later, my need for an even more capable aircraft began to precipitate and I moved up into a Mooney Encore, a 220HP variant of the Mooney M20K/252.

Aviation has introduced me to many new friends, business contacts and allowed me to explore so many more places on our big green earth I would otherwise have not been able to see as easily.
